Fever Dream

your bed

rampant with rot

turns my stomach

lightheaded nausea

lopsides my steps

as i stumble towards

this porcelain

receptacle

into it

i pour all sickness

disgust

excrement

weight

jettisons forth

with astounding force

dry heaving on the stained

tiling

this cool

steals away the warmth

from this feverish

corpse

the world skitters

below

insect anxiety

crawling beneath naked flesh

hard shell bodies

gnawing at soft

pallid flesh

sleep inertia

halted to

paralysis

you

hive queen

patient zero

infect me no longer

i’m dying well enough

alone
